Yep, that's really us in the picture. Yes, I know how blessed I am!
We've been married for over 30 years, and we've always been committed to marriage, family, and helping people know and love God. We have two adult sons and two adult daughters. Three are married.
Like most couples of our age and life stage, we've been through a lot. It hasn't all been pretty. In fact, we once planted a church with the motto, "Real Life is Messy!" And it's true. But God really can "work all things together for good" - even the most painful things you can imagine. I see it all the time in my counseling practice. All of life is designed to help us learn to Give Love and Receive Love. That's what childhood is for, what the teen years are for, what marriage is for, what everything is for!
I provide practical, relationship-based counseling. I've helped many hundreds of people heal. They learn to Give Love Better and Receive Love Better. They especially learn to get the benefit from relationship conflict. Their relationship gets stronger. Big surprise to most people!
I've spent many years teaching about marriage and family in many venues: counseling, churches, schools, and conferences. I also directed a countywide Healthy Marriage Initiative in Ohio.
I'm a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
I'm an ordained pastor. In addition to ministry, I have had careers in Financial Services, HR, IT, and B2B and Industrial sales.
We homeschooled for 18 years. We founded, led, and taught at a school for homeschoolers (WAHA) for 8 years. I taught and was headmaster for another Christian school. Our children have also attended other Christian schools and public schools.
I am passionate about helping you Give Love Better, and helping you Receive Love Better. Receiving Love is harder than you think. Do you want that? Wherever you are in your most important relationships today - you can heal and grow! God still does that. Counseling is a very good start.
